Close.
You woke up early everyday for three months. You practiced. You huffed and puffed.
You watched ESPN and something called The Tennis Channel.
You thought about the championship moment. You fantasized about it. You visualized the big win. You saw yourself pumping your fist in the air, saying YES!
The moment is here.
The last point.
You swing.
You watch the ball … it bounces.
Ugh.
You close your eyes and shake your head.
Close … so close.
This is what happens in sports. In every sport. But at least you have Gatorade.
Close … so close
Wow, great shot!
Great entry for the challenge, TG. 😉
Good post but the close call could be much worse. Your heartbreaking loss could have been you coming in second in the women’s finals following a tough 3 set match at the US Open that’s broadcast live on national TV. You watch your victorious opponent jump up and down with so much enthusiasm the stadium shakes and then Mary Carillo shoves a microphone in your face and you’re forced to talk gracefully about your lost when all you really want to do is scream and cry. At least those losers still take home handsome prize money.
HA! Oh you crack me up! You’re right about Mary Carillo with that mike, it would have sent me over the edge and no amount of chocolate would have brought me back. Ahhhhh you made my night with that comment. You definitely have a gift for humor. Most def. 🙂
From one tennis lover to another!
Brilliant….
Since I’m a glass half full kinda guy (I like my glass at LEAST half full), I’m gonna say this ball was in?
Either way, nice shot.
