Sometimes the finish line takes a couple extra steps.
The running is smooth. You feel your heartbeat, freedom, and peace. Your best leg. The swimming is hard but you enjoy it. The feel of the water on your skin as you glide passed the ripples. You feel your inner Michael Phelps. But it’s the biking, the hills. Even though you’ve trained the biking still kicks your ass that’s why you don’t like Peloton. You do strength, running, and yoga workouts only.
But you manage to climb while your legs are burning. You keep pedaling. You remember that you do in fact enjoy bike riding, but racing is different.
This week has been a triathlon.
It’s been an incredibly stressful for everyone in The States but it all came to an end last night, with a few more loose ends. But in all the finish line can be seen.
Finally.
The rainbow comes out after the rain and we were able to watch.
Literally.
The kids and I took a walk and there it was … suspended between the clouds. Taking deep breaths and feeling good. You know I always enjoy a walk or run after it rains. No one really around. It’s quiet. But the best part is the scent. The smell of clean air and fresh earth gives off the peaceful vibes and the rainbow was just extra sprinkles on top.
Been a rollercoaster of a week and the playlist for the week reflects that …
Buen Camino my friends.

The PERFECT roster of tunes for what this week was all about. Top to bottom, you nailed it.
And as to the Zen we achieve in the middle of doing what we love, an unequivocal YES to that. I haven’t done a road race in forever, so for me it’s been more about achieving that peaceful state.
And finally, a new day is dawning. To think, this forgettable year went out with some amazing moments. We needed it.
Sunshine and waves
These are some of my favorite tunes any time things feel intense out or order Nathaniel and his SOB song makes me feel like I’m not alone. Tom Petty is the man. His tunes ease you into different states of mind. We needed that for sure after all the craziness of results. Plus yes to road races that have zero turkey costumes and providing us the star of ZEN we need, even walks feel good. But in the end it was a sigh of relief for a new day where most people can breathe again because we start fixing everything that got broken. Woke up to a brighter side and sending you the good vibes that go with that. 🙂
You need that, don’t you? I think we all need that song, the one that spells better.
Tom Petty has that intoxicating quality about him, where you just kind of ease into the opening and by the halfway point you’re feeling groovy.
No turkey costumes . . ever. LOL.
It’s gonna be a while yet, but to even be able to talk about a day like that, it makes me feel better.
Feed the bright side, hermana. Here’s to more of it.
Feed the bright side. I LIKE that. That’s vision board post-it on your bathroom mirror worthy. Title of your wake-up alarm worthy. I like that. Thanks buddy 🙂
Glad I could oblige. 🙂
Nice tunes – I actually have heard four of the five songs and have three of them in my iTunes catalogue.
I think we all need to be seeking higher ground – all of us – left, right, and middle. The last 30 years of American politics have been a trip back to middle school for the he-said, she-said crowd and it only got worse in the past four years. I am hoping and praying that we can re-learn how to compromise and give to get again. We are a great country on so many fronts already.
Higher ground. THAT is exactly it. With hate filled people obstructing life a better will be difficult for those that want peace and progress. But I see tiny steps being taken in the right direction for higher ground. And these tunes definitely help do that Beatles and Stevie songs feel like higher ground is possible:)
Definitely a crazy week – so it was fitting that you got to enjoy a rainbow at the end of it. Surprise – rainbows are a future walk topic! Great collection of music. 🙂
That rainbow was so sweet! Kids and I just walking in the fresh air and it seemed to fit the mood, the new beginning, kind of hopeful. Plus I’m glad that rainbows will be in your future too 🙂 I need to catch up! Good to hear from you my friend
