As Easter weekend approaches I’m bracing myself for encounters with crazy parents and crowds of children. Just thinking about it causes anxiety and I think I’ll need to meditate twice tonight just to prepare myself for the aggravation ahead of me this weekend.
There are two egg hunts in my parenting future. One on Saturday. One on Sunday. I so wish I could just scrap the Saturday one and go to the beach with the kids, but we’re making memories, right? So I gotta just cowboy up.
But in truth it’s not so much the kids that will annoy me, it’s the parents. Have you seen these people on Easter in Easter Egg Hunts? Have you seen them leave their own kid in the dust and steamroll other three-year olds for a purple plastic egg?
Duuuuuuuuude.
I saw this and I thought of them.
I don’t know what it is about Easter Egg Hunts that brings out the crazy and the stupid in people. But it does. Wish me luck as I encounter all kinds of parents this weekend. I’ll try to remain Zen-like.
Good luck. Hilarious post.
Thanks for the luck. I ended up going to the beach on Saturday, but the Sunday Easter egg hunt wasn’t as bad as I thought … the cloudy weather I guess. 🙂
You can’t imagine how much I understand you!
When I had kids ,my problem was: the parents! I feared them…even harder if they were stupid…! Lol!
Ha, ha, ha. I so agree. It is crazy with all the crowd. I do agree with the beach trip too. I’m from work 31st, night shift so I’m hoping to keep it simple. I’m going to surprise my son with a Star Wars fighting pods minifigures inside the egg. I’ll just find a quiet park where I can scatter the eggs and have a brunch picnic afterwards. It is afterall about making happy memories with family , away from the crazy crowd. Happy Easter!
Yes! Absolutely. I chickened out on the Easter Egg hunt today and went to the beach … it was awesome 🙂 We had a great time. Gave me enough peace to prepare myself for the craziness of Sunday’s egg hunt. 🙂
used to do ours in our own garden and pushy parents were not included. Sounds like a nightmare so here’s looking at you cowboy!
Thanks I’m gonna need it. I chickened out of today’s egg hunt and went to the beach … but tomorrow … tomorrow’s a big one. Thanks for the well wishes I’m gonna need it. 🙂
