Weekly Photo Challenge: Together

1 May

Together

Together … Drinking and driving suck.

Together the drunk driver and his car crashed into my car and plowed me into the center divider.

Together the glass, the steering wheel, and the walnut dash made an impact on my face, arms, and knees.

Keeping it together was pretty difficult as my blood oozed everywhere and the other driver walked out of his car unscathed.

Together the ideas swirling in my head said I should get out of the car and smash the bottle over his drunk-driving head, but the paramedics didn’t think it was a good idea.

Crushed together were all the parts of my 1967 white Mercedes Benz 300 SE.

Together both of my parents freaked out as they drove home from the airport and recognized what was left of my car being hauled away.

However, thanks to the awesome German Mercedes Benz engineers and makers of my car, all my body parts remained together and still functioned as a unit.

Together.

You are one lucky person. This is one inspiring post that a lot of our readers should read. Till today, particularly the younger age group still risk their lives and/or others by driving under the influence of alcohol …and recently texting while driving. Stories like this reminds us that this scary events happen and not everyone gets second chances. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Sometimes when I think my life sucks I look at that old photo and remember the “what if” about the accident. I’m glad I’m still walking with both legs. But I agree with you that anything can happen on the road and that young people need to pay more attention instead of sending text messages.

Oh, what a scary together story. So glad you survived to tell the tale. 😉

Me too. That’s why I like to do stuff like Warrior Dash and other races, I could’ve been in a wheelchair.

OMG! Doesn’t look like anyone could have survived a crash like that!. You are one lucky gal! Excellent subject for the topic, though.

I’m surprised I walked away from that one too … well at least walked to the ambulance. I was fine after a couple weeks 🙂

This is one of my favorite weekly photo challenge posts I have read. My wife was in a similar nasty crash in 2005. I am certain she would love to have shoved the bottles into the drunks that crushed her as well, but they were ejected into the street and life flown to the hospital (no seat-belts)

A lesson learned, without need for a mortician.

Oh My Goodness! I am so glad to hear you made it out alive after that one. Hope a lot of people read this, stop and think before they drink and drive. I have a nephew, who intentionally drank too much and thought it would be fun to race a friend. Long story short, he wrecked. Fortunately it was a single car crash. Fortunately, I can say ” I HAVE a nephew”, we weren’t sure he was going to make it. He learned nothing. 😦

Glad you still have a nephew…sad that he didn’t learn anything.

Aah, glad you’re together. Sorry about your car. Mine was left in two under her metallic twisted shell. Torn asunder. I mirrored her pretty much!
    Thought provoking post
